Every teacher is expected to teach their content and have the students achieve some kind of mastery by the end of the year. But what do you do when you have a mound of content to teach that is contingent on the learner reading a multitude of literature and the make up of your class’s reading level is anywhere from on-grade level to several years behind? This workshop is designed to show educators a way to engage their students in text in a more meaningful, intentional and purposeful way. It takes close reading to a more complex level, while helping students to analyze literature in a non-threatening way. In this interactive workshop, teachers will be armed with a strategy to use in the classroom that will encourage the MVPs (most VULNERABLE player) of the class and empower them to engage in analyzing text.
