Each June hundreds of educators from across the country make the journey to the Teacher Self-Care Conference that inspires their practice and rejuvenates their hearts. They leave with strong strategies and best practices for taking care of themselves in the midst of the whirlwind that teaching has become. Join us to find new teaching friends, new connections with education luminaries, and enough self-care strategies to harmonize their year.
In 2019, the Teacher Self-Care Annual Conference is scheduled for June 21-22, 2019! How Having a Teacher Mentor Helped Me Survive My First Year

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

New teachers need support and veteran teachers are responsible for making it happen.  In this workshop, new teachers and veteran teachers learn how perception creates misunderstandings for staff at the onset of a new school year.  Teachers will see how their experiences as a new teacher shape their approach to mentorship and how essential authenticity is when mentoring new teachers.  The goal of the workshop is to help veteran teachers understand their role in building relationships with new teachers and how impactful those relationships are in combating teacher turnover.  The goal for new teachers is to identify their growth and learn how to trust their process in their career.  Teachers will be able to ask the presenter questions on dealing with difficult situations and the best approaches for cultivating a positive climate and culture throughout their work environment.  Teachers will learn how to not take feedback personally and use it for growth.  Teachers will also be given additional tips for surviving the school year to avoid high levels of stress and complete the year successfully.
