“Mindfulness: Decreased Stress and Increased My Success as a Teacher” is an interactive workshop that demonstrates practical ways to manage the pressure teachers experience that can cause physical and mental challenges.  From meeting the social and emotional needs of students to being held accountable for students’ achievement on state-mandated assessment, teachers experience undue stress that affects both themselves and their students. In this workshop, the teachers will identify signs of stress, challenges that cause stress, explore how it impacts teaching and learning, and determine ways to improve their stress management skills. The goal of the workshop is to provide teachers with stress reducers to further strengthen their delivery of instruction to ensure students experience a high-quality learning experience. Through engaging discussions, group participation, and hands-on activities, teachers will leave with tools, strategies, and resources to manage stress as a teacher.
